Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dependable Pipelayer to join our civil construction team. The Pipelayer will be responsible for installing underground utility systems, including storm drain, sanitary sewer, and water lines. The ideal candidate has experience working in trenches, reading grade stakes, and safely installing pipe to project specifications.
Responsibilities
- Install storm sewer, sanitary sewer, water main, and related utility piping
- Prepare trenches for pipe installation, including bedding and grading
- Align and secure pipe according to plans, specifications, and grade requirements
- Read and interpret grade stakes, laser levels, and construction drawings
- Assist with trench box installation and other excavation safety measures
- Perform pipe cuts, connections, and fittings as required
- Work closely with equipment operators, grade crew members, and supervisors
- Backfill and compact trenches according to project specifications
- Inspect materials and completed work to ensure quality standards are met
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work area
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Pipelayer in civil construction required
- Experience installing storm, sewer, and water utility systems
- Ability to read grade stakes and understand utility plans and specifications
- Knowledge of trench safety and excavation procedures
- Ability to work in and around trenches and heavy equipment
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work
- Valid driver's license preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with laser levels and grade control systems
- OSHA 10 certification
- Experience with manhole and catch basin installation
