Our client, a manufacturing company located in Bay Shore, NY is looking for an Assistant Production Supervisor to join their team.
What you will do in this role:
- Spend 90–95% of time on the production floor training, developing employees, and improving processes.
- Lead and supervise hourly employees, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, food safety, and operational procedures.
- Assign daily tasks, manage labor resources, monitor performance, and provide coaching, feedback, and corrective action.
- Analyze production methods, equipment performance, and working conditions to improve efficiency, productivity, and product quality.
- Troubleshoot operational issues, resolve conflicts, and partner with Line Leads, operators, and Maintenance to address production needs.
- Conduct safety inspections, identify hazards, implement corrective actions, and maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
- Track and report KPIs including productivity, quality, and safety, prepare shift reports, and recommend continuous improvements.
- Foster a team-oriented culture through training, communication, accountability, professional development, and collaboration with management and cross-functional teams.
What you will bring to the role:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Experience in a USDA- or FDA-regulated food processing facility required; experience with Raw and Ready-to-Eat (RTE) products preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail and process accuracy.
- Bilingual English Spanish a must.
