Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team! Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on machinery, HVAC systems, refrigeration units, and other equipment to minimize downtime and extend lifespan.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/Refrigeration) issues using schematics and technical manuals.
- Repair or replace malfunctioning appliances, equipment components, or system parts promptly to ensure continuous operation.
- Conduct inspections of building systems and infrastructure to identify potential problems before they escalate.
- Lead small maintenance projects or team efforts when necessary, demonstrating leadership and coordination skills.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and system updates for compliance and tracking purposes.
- Respond swiftly to emergency repair requests to restore functionality and safety across the facility.
- Snow removal, salting, cleaning, and maintenance of grounds, including common areas.
- Availability to cover the Superintendent when he is on vacation for emergency situations at the property, including being on call 24/7.
- Coordinate move in/outs
- Preparing vacant apartments for market ready status through turn-over repairs and improvements, including painting, tape, spackle, sanding and cleaning
Requirements
- Proven experience as a service technician with a focus on appliance repair, HVAC/R systems, refrigeration, or general equipment maintenance.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read schematics and technical diagrams accurately.
- Hands-on experience in appliance repair, HVAC systems (including air conditioning), refrigeration units, and equipment repair.
- Familiarity with construction practices and building maintenance procedures is highly desirable.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues efficiently under pressure.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the capacity to guide team members or coordinate maintenance projects effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for clear documentation and collaboration with team members.
