Environment Control North Bay has proudly served Sonoma, Napa, and Marin Counties for over 20 years. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a dependable, organized, and detail-oriented Unit Manager to join our team.
Position Details
- Job Type: Full-Time
- Schedule: Monday–Friday
- Flexible Scheduling: Some flexibility in scheduling between 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM

Position Summary
The Unit Manager is responsible for the overall quality, customer satisfaction, staffing, and profitability of assigned client accounts. This position requires strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Account Management
- Ensure all assigned accounts are properly staffed and scheduled services are completed.
- Maintain detailed knowledge of each account and its specific service requirements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date account information and documentation.
- Communicate with Supervisors regarding account needs and service concerns.
- Respond to customer complaints and work tickets promptly and ensure issues are resolved.
- Conduct on-site inspections to ensure quality standards are consistently met.
- Fill in for an absent Supervisor when needed.
- Report accidents, emergencies, alarm issues, supply concerns, and other account issues to management promptly.
Quality Control
- Review OrangeQC throughout the day to monitor service quality and work tickets.
- Ensure tickets are assigned correctly, completed on time, properly documented, and closed with photos.
- Ensure scheduled inspections are completed accurately and on time.
- Follow up on inspection findings and ensure corrective action is completed.
- Identify and address ongoing quality issues.
- Monitor the quality of work across all assigned accounts.
Timekeeping & Scheduling
- Review Kronos daily to ensure proper account coverage and accurate timekeeping.
- Monitor and correct missed shifts, missed punches, account numbers, pay counters, travel time, meal breaks, and overtime.
- Work with Supervisors to resolve scheduling and timekeeping issues.
- Monitor schedules to minimize unnecessary overtime.
- Ensure required overtime is approved by management in advance.
- Monitor California minimum shift requirements and adjust schedules when necessary.
Budget & Labor Control
- Monitor labor hours and account budgets.
- Identify accounts that are over budget.
- Work with Supervisors to correct budget issues and follow up to ensure improvements are made.
- Assist with establishing labor budgets.
- Monitor labor and operating expenses to maintain profitability.
Employee Training & Development
- Train Supervisors on company policies, procedures, and systems.
- Ensure Controllers are properly trained and prepared to perform their assignments.
- Work closely with Supervisors to support employee training and development.
- Ensure employees have the proper equipment and skills to perform their jobs.
- Assist Supervisors with employee performance and disciplinary matters when needed.
- Communicate staffing needs to Human Resources in a timely manner.
Equipment & Supply Management
- Ensure each account has the proper approved equipment, chemicals, and supplies.
- Maintain accurate supply and equipment lists for assigned accounts.
- Monitor supply and equipment usage to control costs.
- Coordinate equipment orders and replacements as needed.
- Ensure the company warehouse maintains adequate supplies and equipment.
Heavy & Billable Work
- Coordinate and oversee approved heavy/billable work.
- Ensure heavy work is completed properly and meets quality standards.
- Verify that the appropriate pay counter is used for approved heavy work.
- Communicate additional or special work opportunities to management.
Revenue & Account Growth
- Identify additional work that may require special billing or increased routine labor.
- Report changes, additions, or deletions to service requirements to management.
- Identify potential Special Service opportunities.
- Help maintain strong customer relationships and support customer satisfaction.
Communication & Administration
- Communicate with the Operations Manager daily regarding schedules, staffing, customer concerns, and operational issues.
- Provide regular updates regarding quality, staffing, and budget concerns.
- Attend Manager and company meetings.
- Assist employees with training on Kronos and other company systems.
- Enforce company policies and procedures.
- Assist with Operations Manager coverage as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
- Spanish and English required
