Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled MRI Technologist to join our dynamic medical imaging team. In this vital role, you will operate magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanners to produce detailed images of patients’ internal structures, supporting accurate diagnosis and effective patient care. Duties
- Prepare patients for MRI procedures by explaining the process, positioning them correctly, and ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the scan
- Operate MRI scanners with precision, adjusting settings to capture optimal images based on physician orders and patient needs
- Conduct specialized imaging procedures including CT scans, DEXA scans (dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry), sonography, and vascular access imaging as required
- Maintain strict adherence to equipment safety procedures and aseptic techniques to prevent contamination and ensure patient safety
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to acquire high-quality images for diagnostic evaluation
- Manage image storage and retrieval using Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) for efficient access and record keeping
- Assist with patient care activities such as IV insertion, monitoring physiological responses, and providing compassionate support during procedures
Skills
- Proficiency in operating MRI scanners along with experience in CT, DEXA scan, sonography, and vascular imaging techniques
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and diagnostic radiology principles essential for accurate image acquisition and interpretation
- Ability to perform IV insertions safely using aseptic techniques while maintaining patient comfort
- Familiarity with medical equipment operation, equipment safety procedures, and radiation safety regulations
- Excellent understanding of patient safety protocols, including Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and emergency response procedures
- Experience in using PACS for image management and documentation purposes
- Effective communication skills to explain procedures clearly and provide exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment
