Responsibilities
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque, tartar, and stains.
- Conduct patient assessments by taking medical histories, and evaluating oral health status.
- Take dental radiographs (X-rays) using digital imaging equipment while ensuring radiation safety protocols.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term oral health.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR using Dentrix), documenting patient information accurately and maintaining confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Support infection prevention measures by following strict aseptic techniques, sterilizing dental instruments, and adhering to infection control protocols.
- Collaborate with dentists and team members to ensure seamless patient care and accurate medical coding for billing purposes.
Requirements
- Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to perform dental hygiene procedures.
- Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings, demonstrating proficiency in dental care patient education and clinical skills.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and dental equipment operation.
- Familiarity with digital imaging software. ( Dentrix and Dexis)
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively educate patients of all ages about oral health practices.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance at all times.
- Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control practices, including aseptic technique and sterilization procedures.

Pay: $55.00 - $57.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8.0 – 24.0 per week
