Position: Server (Part-Time)
The Eastman is looking for friendly, professional servers to join our team. Located in Pittsburgh's Deutschtown, The Eastman combines neighborhood hospitality, craft cocktails, local beer, sports, and chef-driven food from the team behind Taqueria Acosta.
We're seeking hospitality-focused team members who enjoy building relationships with guests, working collaboratively, and creating a welcoming neighborhood dining experience.
What You'll Do
- Provide exceptional guest service from greeting through payment
- Guide guests through food and beverage selections while demonstrating strong knowledge of our menus
- Maintain a thorough understanding of all food, cocktail, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverage offerings
- Accurately enter food and beverage orders into the POS system
- Communicate guest allergies, dietary restrictions, and special requests to the kitchen and bar teams
- Serve food and beverages efficiently while maintaining service standards
- Monitor guest satisfaction and anticipate guest needs throughout service
- Process cash, credit card, and POS transactions accurately
- Complete opening, closing, and side work responsibilities
- Assist with inventory counts, restocking, and maintaining service stations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining and service areas
- Demonstrate strong time management skills and prioritize tasks during busy service periods
- Work collaboratively with bartenders, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth operations
Qualifications
- Previous serving experience preferred
- Strong understanding of hospitality and guest service
- Ability to learn and retain food, beverage, and cocktail menu knowledge
- Experience using POS systems or willingness to learn
- Ability to accurately handle multiple tables and guest requests simultaneously
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail, particularly regarding order accuracy and guest allergens
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs
- RAMP certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
