Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Certified Commercial Kitchen Equipment Repair Technician to join our dynamic team. This role is a 1099 independent Contractor Position, Paid per Completed Job. Work is scheduled by project, with ongoing opportunities across our restaurant and hospitality clients. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, installing, and maintaining a wide range of commercial kitchen appliances and equipment. Your expertise will ensure that restaurant and food service operations run smoothly by providing timely, efficient service and expert technical support. Duties
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with commercial kitchen equipment using schematics, electrical diagrams, and technical manuals
- Perform repairs on refrigeration units, ovens, dishwashers, fryers, ventilation systems, and other appliances with precision and efficiency
- Install new equipment according to manufacturer specifications and industry standards
- Conduct routine maintenance to prevent breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, ladder use, and assembly techniques to complete repairs safely and effectively
- Interpret electrical work plans and plumbing diagrams to ensure proper installation and repair of systems
- Operate company vehicles responsibly for field service calls while adhering to safety protocols
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding repair procedures, timelines, and maintenance tips to enhance customer satisfaction
- Maintain detailed service records, parts inventories, and documentation for each job performed
- Stay updated on the latest industry trends, tools, and best practices in appliance repair and equipment troubleshooting
Qualifications
- Proven experience in appliance repair with a focus on commercial kitchen equipment or related field service roles
- Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by electrical experience and plumbing skills
- Ability to read schematics, electrical diagrams, ladder logic use, and technical manuals confidently
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, refrigeration systems, and assembly techniques
- Experience with maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) practices in a commercial environment
- Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude in all interactions
- Valid driver’s license
- Knowledge of refrigeration systems, electrical work standards, plumbing codes, and appliance installation procedures
- Ability to troubleshoot complex equipment issues efficiently using diagnostic skills
