American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position in California, requiring 3+ years of nursing experience and specialization across general, ortho, vascular, trauma, and neuro surgical cases.

Hospital-based Operating Room setting

Surgical specialties include general, orthopedic, vascular, trauma, and neuro cases

Day shift schedule: 5x8-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
-
On-call required on an as-needed basis

Every other weekend required

13-week contract

Active CA RN license required
-
Current certifications required: BLS and ACLS

Minimum 3 years of nursing experience required

Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience required

Ability to scrub and circulate surgical cases
-
Must be able to work with bodily fluids and substances, make fine sound discrimination, and handle emergency or crisis situations

2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration

This position is classified OSHA Risk Category I (High Risk)

Plans, manages, and coordinates professional nursing care for surgical patients in both scrub and circulating roles

Directs and supervises ancillary nursing personnel and collaborates with the full health care team

Maintains AORN standards of professional nursing practice

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel pay rates

Former employees of this health system must have been separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler

Only 1 holiday RTO request will be approved for the duration of the assignment
