Schedule Expectations
· Full-Time: 25+ visits per week
· Part-Time: 6+ visits per week
· PRN: 1 shift every 6 months
What You'll Do
· Provide occupational therapy interventions under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist and in accordance with the established plan of care.
· Help patients improve daily living skills, mobility, coordination, strength, and functional independence.
· Teach patients how to safely use adaptive equipment and assistive devices.
· Monitor patient progress and promptly report changes in condition or response to treatment to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
· Educate patients, families, and caregivers on therapeutic activities, home exercise programs, safety, and injury prevention.
· Complete timely and accurate visit documentation in the EMR system.
· Coordinate visit schedules with patients, caregivers, and agency staff.
· Communicate regularly with the supervising Occupational Therapist regarding patient progress, concerns, and recommended changes.
· Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to support patient goals and continuity of care.
· Follow infection-control, patient-safety, confidentiality, and agency policies.
· Participate in care conferences, training, and quality-improvement activities as required.
· Travel to patients’ homes within the assigned 20 mile service area.
Qualifications
· Associate Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
· Current, unrestricted Texas Occupational Therapy Assistant License.
· Successful completion of the NBCOT Occupational Therapy Assistant examination.
· Current NBCOT certification preferred, but not required.
· Current driver's license.
· Reliable transportation and current auto liability insurance.
· One year of therapy experience preferred, but not required
· Pediatric and home health experience preferred, but not required
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
· Current CPR certification.
· Current TB within the last year or Chest X-Ray within the last 5 years
· Ability to travel locally within a 20 mile radius of your home and maintain a flexible schedule.
· Bilingual Skills (English/Spanish) are a plus but not required
