Overview
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Lead Teacher for our Older Infants to join our vibrant early childhood education team. In this vital role, you will lead a classroom dedicated to infants aged 8 to 14 months, fostering a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment that promotes early development and learning. Your enthusiasm and expertise will inspire young children to explore, discover, and grow while working closely with families to support their child's unique needs. Responsibilities
- Lead daily classroom activities that support infant development, including sensory exploration, motor skills, language acquisition, and social-emotional growth.
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards and individual child needs.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children through vigilant supervision, adherence to safety protocols, and maintaining a clean, organized environment.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns, fostering strong partnerships built on trust.
- Support team collaboration and contribute to a positive, inclusive classroom culture.
- Maintain accurate documentation of developmental progress, attendance records, feeding schedules, and incident reports in compliance with mandated reporting laws.
- Incorporate best practices in classroom management, behavior guidance, and child supervision to create a nurturing atmosphere conducive to learning.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with infants in childcare centers is essential; familiarity with toddler care is highly valued.
- Demonstrated knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education methods.
- Valid certification in pediatric first aid and CPR; additional certifications in special education or working with children with disabilities are a plus.
- Strong classroom management skills combined with the ability to engage young children through creative teaching strategies.
- Excellent communication skills for parent interaction and team collaboration.
- Knowledge of mandated rules and regulations related to child safety and welfare.
- Experience in behavior management techniques suitable for infants and toddlers is preferred.
