Spartanburg Water, a water and wastewater utility provider is seeking an intern to support the company within the Collections and Distribution (C&D) Department. Works hand-in-hand with Spartanburg Water professionals operating, maintaining and conducting continuous improvement research for collecting wastewater and distributing drinking water. If you have a genuine interest in environmental sciences and would like to have a hands on experience in serving the community while being a good steward to the environment, this is the internship for you!
Duties and Responsibilities
Participates in field operations for collections and distribution throughout Spartanburg County- Assists in data collection for flow assessment and measurements.
- Supports day to day administrative/organizational functions in C&D. Performs comparative research on efficiency of current operational/scientific practices versus other potential practices
- Accomplishes data entry and assists in presenting research through compilation of results into graphical analysis
Requirements
Enrollment in an institution of higher learning or certification program with an emphasis in environmental studies or relatable subject- Basic computer skills
- Experience with Excel
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work out-of-doors and also inside a laboratory with equal enthusiasm
