Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated Junior Accountant to join our accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for early-career professional who wants to gain hands-on experience in the accounting and financial operations of a multi-state construction company.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, eager to learn, organized, and capable of managing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. You will work directly with senior accounting staff and management while gaining exposure to construction accounting, payroll, union reporting, compliance, and financial administration.
Responsibilities
- Assist with quarterly state and federal tax filings for multiple states
- Support union payroll audits and maintain required documentation
- Complete Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) True-Up reporting
- Process vendor payments through American Express
- Maintain and update weekly bill tracking reports
- Prepare International Union (IW) remittance reports
- Process employee verification requests
- Assist with workers’ compensation employee earnings reports
- Maintain fringe benefit tracking and reconciliation reports
- Reconcile accounts and assist with month-end closing activities
- Prepare certified payroll reports
- Support additional accounting and administrative projects as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required)
- CPA eligible or actively pursuing CPA certification preferred
- 0-2 years of accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines while maintaining accuracy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Professional, dependable, and willing to learn
Preferred Experience
Experience with any of the following is a plus, but not required:
- Construction accounting
- Multi-state tax reporting
- Payroll or certified payroll
- Union accounting
- Workers’ compensation reporting
- Job costing
- Quickbooks construction accounting software

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
