Responsibilities
- Perform acupuncture treatments tailored to individual patient needs, focusing on acute pain management, trigger point therapy, and pain relief strategies.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments including physical examinations, medical history review, and diagnosis using healthcare terminology and physiology knowledge.
- Develop personalized treatment plans integrating acupuncture, herbal medicine techniques, and other holistic modalities to optimize patient outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals such as physical therapists to coordinate care plans and ensure comprehensive patient management.
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR/EHR management) documenting treatment details, patient progress, and clinical notes with attention to aseptic technique standards.
- Educate patients on self-care practices, including herbal remedies and lifestyle modifications that support ongoing health improvements.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, including proper aseptic techniques during procedures and adherence to healthcare regulations.
Experience
- Proven experience in pain medicine or pain management with a focus on acute pain relief through acupuncture or trigger point therapy.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to acupuncture practice.
- Hands-on experience performing physical examinations and patient assessments within a clinical setting.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems for managing patient documentation efficiently.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients, explaining treatment options clearly and compassionately.
- Prior work integrating TCM principles with Western healthcare practices is highly desirable.
- Certification as a Licensed Acupuncturist by the appropriate licensing board is required; additional certifications in herbal medicine or advanced pain management are a plus.
