LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a company on Long Island seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Accounts Payable Analyst to join their growing finance team. This role is responsible for overseeing the full accounts payable cycle, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, maintaining vendor relationships, supporting month-end close activities, and driving process improvements. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and experience working within a high-volume environment. This position will lead to a Supervisory Role and will pay $75K with bonus. This is a hybrid role (3 days in office) with hours - 8:30am-5pm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the end-to-end accounts payable process, including invoice review, coding, approval routing, and scheduling payments.
- Analyze and reconcile vendor statements, resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Review and ensure accuracy of expense reports and employee reimbursements.
- Prepare and process ACH, wire, and check payments.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, including accruals and account reconciliations.
- Maintain vendor master files and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Support annual audits by providing requested documentation and schedules.
- Monitor AP aging reports and identify opportunities to improve cash flow management.
- Partner with internal departments and external vendors to resolve payment-related issues.
- Develop, document, and improve accounts payable processes and internal controls.
- Generate reports and perform analysis on spending trends, vendor activity, and AP metrics.
- Assist with special projects and system implementations as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive accounts payable experience, preferably in a high-volume environment.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and AP best practices.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines and work independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with AP automation platforms such as, Concur.
- Experience supporting process improvement initiatives and system enhancements.
