Position Title: Construction Laborer
Wage: $21.00+/hour
Shift: 1st
Hours: 6:00am - 2:20pm (Monday - Friday); Overtime as needed

Skilled and dependable modular home construction professional with hands-on experience across all phases of residential building, including framing, roofing, siding, plumbing, electrical, drywall, and finish work. This Construction Laborer position offers 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:20 p.m., allowing employees to enjoy their evenings and weekends at home. Opportunities for overtime may be available based on production demands. This is a potential to hire position in Stratford, WI.
Construction Laborer Responsibilities:
- Assist in all aspects of modular home building such as rough framing, roofing, siding, plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, flooring, trimming and detail finishing
- Assemble based on home design and appropriate building code requirements
- Operate drills, saws, hand, power and air tools in a safe manner
- Layout floor, wall and roof assemblies
- Cut lumber to length
- Fabricate and assemble floor panels, wall panels and roof
- Install LVT flooring
- Layout the locations of kitchen, bath and laundry fixtures
- Cut, glue, secure drainage and water piping/fittings
- Install toilets, bath tub/shower, sinks, dishwasher, laundry water lines and drains
- Install blown-in cellulose insulation
- Apply drywall material to interior and exterior walls
- Apply joint tape and compound to sheet seams, walls, ceiling and inside corners
- Apply finish of splatter coat, primer and paint
- Install electrical systems and components – lighting, wiring, transformers, outlets, circuit breakers, etc.
- Identify electrical problems with a variety of testing devices
- Install house wrap, windows, exterior doors, vinyl/LP siding, soffit and fascia, roof sheathing and felt, asphalt shingles, interior window, door casing and base trim, laminate flooring, kitchen and bathroom cabinets, ceramic tile, poly vapor barrier
- Install fiberglass batting to exterior walls
Requirements for Construction Laborer:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- 1+ years of experience working in residential home construction preferred
- Experience working in commercial construction preferred
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Able to work in a team environment
- Has physical strength
- Detail oriented
- Problem solving skills
- Strong working knowledge of job safety as well ability to complete safety orientation
- High standard of integrity and professionalism
- Must be able to follow verbal and written directives
