Responsibilities
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment while ensuring proper infection prevention protocols
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term dental health
- Assist during procedures with chairside support, including handling dental instruments and managing dental equipment efficiently
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records within Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems such as Open Dental
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by maintaining patient confidentiality and safeguarding medical records
- Follow infection prevention management guidelines through aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures to uphold safety standards in the clinic
Qualifications
- Positive, dependable, and willing to adapt/learn personality.
- Active Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license through the Utah Division of Professional Licensing
- Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Local anesthesia license
- Previous dental experience (education/training or work-related) necessary.
Open Dental knowledge is a plus.
Hours are Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri 8-4 single booked
