JOB SUMMARY
The Service Technician provides In-Field Service Support with regional and national focus. Builds and maintains excellent business relationships with the company’s client base through the offer of world class technical services.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

Report to VDS+ Technical Service Manager and responsible for installing and servicing all Allentown Vivarium, Washing, and Sterlization products to Allentown customers in the territory.

Will travel nationally for assistance as required.

Troubleshoot and repair of equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications.

Carry out preventative maintenance and service visits.

Assist with training of customers and third-party service providers.

Timely and accurate completion of service paperwork distributed to customer and management.

Maintain and protect service tools and materials.

Maintain accurate inventory of parts on-hand.
-
Assist in planning service-related jobs within assigned territory.

Maintain neatness, order, and safety in the work environment.

Properly follow all regulations and procedures.

Report quality issues and discrepancies back to the service manager.

Maintain positive relationships with customers and service groups.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
-
Minimum three (3) years' experience
-
Skilled in Microsoft Office and associated applications
-
High level of professionalism accompanied with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
-
Must have excellent organizational and time management skills, being able to prioritize multiple priorities at one time.

Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written.
-
Excellent and proven technical background. Experience with and understanding of pumps, motors, blowers, hydraulics, and electro-mechanical systems.

Deep understanding of electromechanical systems, knowledge of fluids, electrical and HVAC, as well as the ability to diagnose PLC controls-previous experience in medical device or research laborary equipment installation and maintenance repair preferred

Ability to work independently and as a team member.

Ability to travel nationally and internationally as needed-Approximately 75%

Must have valid US drivers license and clean driving record

Must have valid US Passport and meet requirements for international travel

Must climb ladders and/or scaffolds and work above floor height.

Requires routine pushing, pulling, grasping, and manual dexterity in the use of hands, arms and shoulders.

Occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions, fumes and airborne particles, and outdoor weather conditions.

Distance vision/peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Must be able to sit and drive for long periods of time during travel.

Must be able to occasionally walk great lengths at a time and stand for extended periods of time.

Must be able to perform work from floor level to above shoulder height if needed.

Must be able to operate a computer and other office machinery such as a calculator, copy machine and printer.
