Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Millwork Drafter to join our innovative design and manufacturing team. In this role, you will be instrumental in translating conceptual designs into precise technical drawings and detailed construction documents for custom millwork projects. Your expertise will help ensure that each project meets rigorous quality standards, building codes, and client specifications. Duties
- Develop comprehensive 2D and 3D CAD models of millwork components using software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino 3D, or ArchiCAD.
- Create detailed construction documentation, including shop drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions that adhere to building code compliance and project specifications.
- Utilize Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools to coordinate design data across disciplines, ensuring seamless integration of systems and materials.
- Collaborate closely with architects, interior designers, project managers, and manufacturing teams to interpret design concepts into accurate technical drawings.
- Conduct building code analysis to verify compliance with local regulations and industry standards for all projects.
- Assist in system design and graphic visualization for presentations or client review using tools like SketchUp or 3ds Max.
- Support the drafting process with construction detail documentation, ensuring clarity for fabrication and installation teams.
Requirements
- Proven experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino 3D (Rhinoceros), Grasshopper 3D, ArchiCAD, MicroStation, or SolidWorks.
- Strong knowledge of building code analysis and building code compliance standards relevant to interior construction.
- Skilled in 3D CAD modeling, BIM workflows, and construction detail documentation.
- Familiarity with schematic development, drafting best practices, and system design principles for millwork applications.
- Experience in construction environments or interior design projects is highly desirable.
- Ability to interpret architectural drawings and translate concepts into precise technical schematics.
- Excellent graphic design skills with an eye for detail; proficiency in 2D animation or visualization tools is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and deadlines.
