Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Endoscopy Nurse Manager to lead our endoscopy services team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical expertise in endoscopic procedures, strong leadership capabilities, and a comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulations and patient care standards. As the Nurse Manager, you will oversee daily operations within the endoscopy department, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, ensure compliance with safety protocols, and promote a culture of excellence in patient care. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the endoscopy nursing team, providing mentorship, training, and performance evaluations to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Oversee scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation to maintain optimal department efficiency and patient safety standards.
- Ensure adherence to hospital policies, healthcare regulations, HIPAA compliance, and infection control protocols specific to endoscopic procedures.
- Coordinate with physicians, technicians, and support staff to facilitate smooth workflow during complex procedures such as colonoscopies, gastroscopies, and other diagnostic or therapeutic interventions.
- Monitor clinical outcomes and implement quality improvement initiatives aligned with accreditation standards like NCQA and JCAHO.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner, ensuring compliance with medical records regulations.
- Manage inventory of endoscopic equipment and supplies while controlling costs without compromising patient safety or procedural quality.
- Promote a positive team environment that encourages professional growth, accountability, and collaboration among multidisciplinary staff.
Qualifications
- Proven leadership experience in nursing management within an endoscopy or outpatient surgical setting.
- Extensive clinical background in endoscopic procedures including familiarity with sedation protocols and sterile techniques.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations such as HIPAA, long-term care regulations, and hospital policies related to patient safety and infection control.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner; experience with ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9) is preferred.
- Critical care experience or ICU background is advantageous for managing complex cases involving airway management or ventilator support during procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise teams effectively while maintaining high standards of patient care and safety compliance.
- Excellent communication skills for managing interdisciplinary collaboration and providing clear instructions to staff members.
- Knowledge of anatomy relevant to endoscopic procedures along with familiarity with medical terminology related to gastrointestinal health.
