Responsibilities and practice
Dentons US LLP is seeking a junior or mid-level associate to join our sophisticated Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice. Candidates should have 2-5 years of complex litigation experience, strong academic credentials, and proven analytic ability, along with extensive experience handling high-level legal matters, including exposure to insurance litigation.
Our associates work collaboratively with our partners and clients, and are key members of our team. Expected responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Working on all aspects of commercial litigation from inception through trials and appeals
- Conducting legal research and writing memoranda
- Drafting complex case analyses and preparing briefs, pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents
- Conducting, propounding and responding to discovery (documents, written discovery, depositions)
- Working with clients, witnesses, experts and other counsel

Pursuant to California law, the salary range for this position will be $235,000 to $325,000 based on experience and location. Based on years of experience, Dentons associates may have a title of Associate, Managing Associate, or Senior Managing Associate. Technical skills
- 2-5 years of experience in complex, sophisticated litigation is required
- Genuine interest in insurance litigation is required
- Strong writing and case management skills, level appropriate direct experience handling clients and adversaries, and excellent oral advocacy skills are required
- Deposition and court experience is preferred
Other requirements
- Must be licensed to practice law in the State of California and be in good standing
- Submission of a cover letter, law school transcript, writing sample; the cover letter should detail the candidate’s complex litigation experience to date, including any insurance litigation experience
