Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace in compliance with food safety standards
- Assist in menu planning by providing input on dish preparation and presentation techniques
- Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and quality at all times
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, slicers, and cooking appliances
- Support catering events and special functions by preparing dishes in a timely manner
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and excellent food service delivery
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or culinary roles within restaurants or the food industry
- Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques and ingredient prep
- Knowledge of safety standards in production, food handling, and food safety management practices
- Experience with meal preparation, food service, and catering environments
- Familiarity with dietary department procedures or dietary aide experience is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward collaboration and learning
