Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Laborer/Pipelayer to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting pipeline installation projects, ensuring that all work is performed efficiently, safely, and to high-quality standards. Your expertise in heavy equipment operation, concrete finishing, and blueprint reading will contribute directly to the successful completion of infrastructure and utility projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse construction sites, utilizing a wide range of skills to build vital pipelines for various industries including oil & gas, plumbing, and utility services.
Duties
- Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and front loader trucks to assist with excavation, trenching, and site preparation.
- Assist in the installation of pipelines by following blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
- Perform concrete forming and finishing tasks to support pipeline foundations and related structures.
- Use pipe lasers and utility locating tools to ensure precise placement of pipes and avoid underground hazards.
- Conduct welding tasks as needed for pipe connections or structural support components.
- Read and interpret construction blueprints and technical diagrams to guide installation processes.
- Support concrete pouring, finishing, and curing activities on-site to ensure durability and compliance with specifications.
- Operate forklifts and other machinery safely to transport materials around the construction site.
- Assist with plumbing installations related to pipeline systems in oil & gas or utility projects.
- Follow safety protocols diligently while working with heavy equipment, welding tools, and hazardous materials.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and forklifts in a construction environment.
- Knowledge of pipeline installation techniques including blueprint reading, concrete forming, and utility locating.
- Skilled in concrete finishing and welding for structural support of pipelines.
- Ability to operate pipe lasers and other precision tools for accurate pipeline placement.
- Construction site experience with familiarity in oil & gas or utility infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to heavy equipment operation and construction work zones.
- Valid certifications for heavy equipment operation (such as forklift certification) are preferred but not mandatory; willingness to obtain necessary certifications is expected.
