Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Licensed Charter Fishing Captain to lead exciting fishing adventures for our guests on a 26ft, twin engine fishing machine. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for safely guiding clients on fishing excursions, ensuring an exceptional experience while maintaining the highest safety standards. Your leadership, mechanical expertise, and passion for fishing will help create memorable moments on the water. Responsibilities
- Operate and navigate the vessel safely, adhering to all maritime laws and safety regulations
- Lead fishing trips, providing expert guidance on techniques and local fishing spots
- Manage crew members and onboard staff to ensure smooth operations during excursions
- Conduct routine maintenance and rigging of fishing gear and vessel systems to ensure optimal performance
- Oversee safety protocols, including emergency procedures and life-saving equipment checks
- Communicate effectively with guests, providing excellent customer service and addressing any concerns promptly
- Maintain detailed logs of trips, safety inspections, and vessel maintenance activities
Skills
- Valid and current Licensed Charter Fishing Captain certification with proper maritime licensing
- Strong mechanical knowledge of boat systems, engines, and rigging equipment
- Experience in management or leadership roles, ideally in a maritime or outdoor recreation setting
- Background in military service or related discipline that emphasizes discipline, safety, and leadership
- Proficiency in rigging techniques and troubleshooting vessel or fishing gear issues
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to instruct guests clearly and professionally
- Knowledge of local marine environments, regulations, and sustainable fishing practices
