JOB SUMMARY: The Transfer Driver is responsible for safely transporting materials between District facilities using Class A commercial vehicles, including doubles and triples. This position supports daily operations by ensuring materials are moved safely, efficiently, and in compliance with DOT regulations and District safety standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles, including doubles and triples, to transport materials between District facilities.
- Conduct vehicle inspections and maintain safe operating practices in accordance with District policies, DOT regulations, and established safety procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of commercial vehicle operation and safety practices.
- Ability to safely operate Class A commercial vehicles in varying weather conditions.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid CDL Class A license with doubles/triples endorsements required.
- Experience operating Class A commercial vehicles is preferred but not required.
- Satisfactory driving record required.
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical and drug screen.
