Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Civil Attorney specializing in a broad range of legal disciplines to join our remote legal team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to engage in diverse civil law matters, including business, contracts, labor and employment, intellectual property, sport and entertainment, international sports disputes, and more. The ideal candidate will possess strong litigation skills, exceptional legal research and writing abilities, and a passion for advocating clients’ rights. As a Civil Attorney, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive legal counsel, drafting precise legal documents, and representing clients effectively across various civil law domains.
Duties
- Provide expert legal advice and counsel on business, labor and employment, contracts, intellectual property law, and other civil matters to clients.
- Conduct thorough legal research utilizing tools such as LexisNexis, Westlaw, and Fastcase to support case strategies and ensure compliance with current laws.
- Draft and review legal documents including pleadings, contracts, motions, and settlement agreements with precision and clarity.
- Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and court proceedings across multiple civil law areas such as intellectual property, contracts, labor and employment, debt collection, and pre-litigation matters.
- Manage all phases of litigation from initial filings through trial preparation while maintaining meticulous case records.
- Collaborate with colleagues on complex cases to develop innovative legal solutions.
- Stay informed about evolving laws and regulations affecting civil practice areas to provide up-to-date guidance.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with active licensure to practice in GEORGIA or ILLINOIS.
- Proven experience in civil litigation with familiarity in debt collection, business, contracts, and intellectual property.
- Strong research skills utilizing LexisNexis, Westlaw or Fastcase platforms for comprehensive legal analysis.
- Excellent legal writing skills for drafting clear pleadings, motions, and correspondence.
- Demonstrated negotiation abilities to advocate effectively on behalf of clients.
- Legal administrative experience managing case files and maintaining detailed documentation.
