Tri-Lakes Special Services Cooperative is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate K-6 Special Education Paraprofessional to join our team. As a paraprofessional, you will work closely with students who have special needs, providing support and assistance in their educational journey. The position has an emphasis in social-emotional learning skills for our students. The Social Emotional Learning Center is located in Branson MO. Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the special education teacher to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs

Provide one-on-one or small group support to students during classroom activities, ensuring their active participation and engagement

Assist students with academic tasks, including reading, writing, math, and other subject areas, as directed by the teacher

Support students in developing social skills, behavior management, and self-regulation techniques

Help create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and respect for all students

Monitor and document student progress, behaviors, and achievements, reporting observations to the teacher and other relevant staff

Assist with the preparation of instructional materials and classroom resources

Collaborate with other professionals, such as therapists and counselors, to meet the individual needs of students

Provide personal care and assistance, if required, including feeding, toileting, and mobility support

Follow all school policies and procedures, including those related to safety and confidentiality
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent
-
36 hours of college credit, substitute certificate, or para praxis

Experience working with at-risk youth or in alternative education settings would be beneficial

Knowledge of special education principles, strategies, and techniques

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff

Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations

Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of students and the classroom environment

Physical stamina to assist with the physical demands of the job, which may include lifting or supporting students with mobility limitations
