Employee Range Safety Officer (RSO)
Job Summary: A Range Safety Officer is primarily responsible for the safety of all United Sportsmen
customers and staff at the range. They should have extensive experience with the types of sports and firearms
utilized at the ranges. They are responsible to monitor and assist participants shooting activities. The RSO will
ensure that the entire facility and all operations are maintained at the highest standards. This is a customer
focused business, and all Range Safety officers must be able to politely and respectfully interrelate with the
customers while maintaining a safe environment. Offensive language, disrespectful or abusive treatment of the
customer will be grounds for separation.
Immediate Supervisor: USI General Manager and Assistant General Manager
Position’s Essential Functions:
1. Always ensure strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the range
2. Give safety briefings and monitor shooters at shotgun ranges.
3. Operate point of sale register and interface in a professional and courteous manner with customers.
4. Always keep traps full, and in operating condition. (Skeet, trap, & 5-Stand)
5. Empty trash cans, brass buckets, and debris from all ranges daily.
6. Maintain the clubhouse, grounds, and fields in clean and orderly condition.
7. Perform maintenance on club facilities and machinery as directed (traps, rolling stock etc.)
8. Work as a team player with all staff
9. Maintain a well-groomed, professional appearance.
10. Always adhere to United Sportsmen Code of Conduct and Anti-harassment policy.
Additional Responsibilities Physical Requirements
Special projects as assigned by supervisors Able to lift 45 lbs., Stand or sit for extended periods.
Qualifications
21 years or older Proficient with office technology
High School Diploma or equivalent Naturally friendly and positive daily attitude
Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities Highly self-motivated/able to work without direction
Ability to carry out directives efficiently. Desire to learn new skills and accept responsibility.
Ability to operate machinery (mower, tractor, forklift) Able to get CA DOJ Certificate of Eligibility (COE)
Mechanical, electrical, and/or carpentry interest and experience highly desirable
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $16.90 per hour
