Responsibilities:
- Help patients with personal hygiene and care such as bathing, grooming, and dressing
- Take and record patient vital signs and weight
- Observe and record patient’s conditions, food and liquid intake and other behavior, and report changes to supervisor
- Help patients walk with canes, walkers, or other devices
- Make beds, and maintain clean and safe environments for patients
- Lift, transport, and move patients using the appropriate techniques
- Treat all residents, family, and other visitors with respect, and engage with them in a tactful manner at all times
- Comply with all safety and health regulations
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- CNA certification in Wisconsin – Not certified, Luther Home offers nurse aide training at no cost.
- Prior work experience in a direct patient care setting or in a long term care facility preferred
- Must be in good physical health and able to lift and move patients, walk or stand for long periods of time
- Must be compassionate and personable
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize assignments
- Ability to handle emotional and stressful situations in a professional manner
