Staff Accountant
Job Summary
The Staff Accountant has overall responsibility for managing the collections, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Accounts Payable:
- Enter and manage supplier payables.
- Prepare reporting to support weekly cash flow strategy.
- Drive improvements in automation and procedures to streamline AP operations.
- Create batch payments after approvals.
- Prepare month end schedules reconciling AP ledger to GL.
- Communicate with Purchasing and Receiving to resolve quantity and pricing variances.
Administers billing process and collections:
- Responsible for timely and accurate preparation of customer invoice batch process.
- Processing of customer credit memos on approved claims.
- Apply customer cash receipts
- Provide daily Revenue reporting to internal and external business partners.
- Collaborate with Sales on customer aging and overdue collections.
- Reconcile AR subledger to GL.
General Ledger:
- Support Controller and HR on Payroll data collection and entry.
- Train in backup of critical accounting functions (e.g. payroll, cash movement).
- Prepare standard month end Journal entries as assigned.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts as assigned
- Analyze and provide commentary on assigned P&L accounts.
- Provide month-end inventory valuation reporting and analysis to support the accurate and timely issuance of the month-end and year-end financial statements.
Audit (External, Insurance, Govt):
- Support Inventory cycle count and adjustment process.
- Prepare data for monthly sales tax reporting
- Assist Controller in providing schedules and supporting documents to external auditors to ensure the audit is performed in an efficient and timely manner.
Other:
- Actively contributes to continuous improvement projects

- Conduct all business in an ethical and honest manner.
Competencies, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- 5+ years of accounting experience; or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, plus relevant accounting experience.
- Must have 5 years of relevant AP and/or general accounting experience with a degree in accounting.
- Must possess a solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and have good knowledge of ERP accounting systems.
- Competent in Excel formulas and data manipulation.
- Communicate effectively with both internal and external customers. Experience in manufacturing or job costing environment a plus.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
