Open Smiles Dental is a modern, patient-focused general dental practice dedicated to providing exceptional care in a warm and welcoming environment. We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and motivated Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) to join our growing team on a part-time basis.

Position Overview
As a Dental Hygienist at Open Smiles Dental, you will play a vital role in improving our patients' oral and overall health through comprehensive preventive care and education. We are looking for someone who values teamwork, provides exceptional patient care, and strives for clinical excellence.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive periodontal assessments
- Obtain and review medical and dental histories
- Take digital radiographs (FMX, BWX, PA, panoramic as needed)
- Perform adult and child prophylaxis
- Complete scaling and root planing (SRP)
- Administer local anesthesia (if licensed)
- Apply fluoride varnish and sealants
- Perform periodontal charting
- Conduct oral cancer screenings
- Educate patients on oral hygiene, home care, and preventive treatment
- Identify conditions requiring doctor evaluation
- Accurately document clinical findings using Eaglesoft
- Maintain infection control and OSHA compliance
- Sterilize instruments and maintain treatment rooms when needed
- Collaborate with the dentist and team to provide outstanding patient care
QualificationsRequired
- Current Maryland Registered Dental Hygienist license in good standing
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Local anesthesia certification (or eligibility to administer anesthesia in Maryland)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional, dependable, and patient-focused
- Ability to educate and motivate patients toward optimal oral health
Preferred
- Minimum of one year of clinical hygiene experience
- Experience using Eaglesoft Dental Software
- Experience with digital radiography
- Knowledge of periodontal therapy and co-diagnosis
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

Schedule
Part-time schedule with flexibility.
Practice hours are:
- Monday – Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Every Other Friday: 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Specific days will be discussed during the interview.
