American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a combined Med Surg/OB unit in an acute care hospital setting, requiring at least 2 years of RN experience with recent OB and Med Surg background.

Acute care hospital setting with a 25-bed unit

Rotating between the OB (Obstetrics) and Med Surg departments
-
Day/night rotating 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
-
Every other weekend and holiday coverage required
-
3 on-call shifts required over the course of the 13-week contract

Med/Surg nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 3–4:1 depending on census and acuity

Charting via Epic (experience required)

Additional equipment includes Sanford One Charge and Pyxis medication dispensing system

13-week contract

Active SD or Compact RN license required
-
Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NRP — all must be active and in hand prior to start

TNCC preferred

Minimum 2 years of RN experience

At least 6 months of OB experience within the past year
-
At least 6 months of Med Surg experience within the past year
-
Ability to function independently across both OB and Med Surg settings

Two professional references required: one from a supervisor within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and one from a peer or supervisor in the position's specialty within the last 3 years

Copies of active certifications required — no pending certifications accepted

Active RN license required at time of consideration

Provides nursing care across both OB and Med Surg, floating between the two units as needed

Orientation consists of 8 hours total: 1 day of OB training and 1 day of Med Surg training, plus Epic computer training

Navy blue scrubs required with no logos; white may be worn underneath or as a lab coat

Candidates who have previously worked at any Sanford Health location must have an end date at least 6 months prior to their application date

Candidates with a permanent address within 80 miles of the facility are subject to a travel pay rate adjustment
