We are a Union shop with the HIGHEST PAY RATE IN TOWN includes benefits (401k Program, Health Insurance, Dental, Vision) Responsibilities and Duties include Engine Diagnostics for Hino, Isuzu and Mitsubishi Fuso, service work, engine exchanges along with transmission replacement. We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical background and be proficient in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines and related systems. This role is crucial for maintaining the performance and safety of our fleet, ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and effectively.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, including Caterpillar models.
- Diagnose mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Conduct inspections on air brake systems, HVAC, and electrical components to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Weld and fabricate parts as necessary to repair or enhance equipment functionality.
- Operate cranes and other heavy machinery during repair processes as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, services performed, and parts used.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot complex mechanical problems.
- Ensure all work areas are kept clean and organized, adhering to safety protocols.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in diesel mechanics.
- Proficiency in working with Caterpillar engines is a plus.
- Ability to perform welding tasks and basic fabrication work.
- Familiarity with HVAC systems, air brakes, and electrical components in heavy machinery.
- Experience operating cranes or similar heavy equipment is desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
