ELE Logistics is a rapidly growing transportation company seeking an experienced and motivated Safety Director to lead our safety and compliance department. This position plays a critical role in protecting our drivers, maintaining DOT compliance, reducing risk, and fostering a strong culture of safety throughout the organization.
We are looking for a leader who is proactive, organized, and passionate about helping drivers succeed while ensuring the company operates at the highest level of compliance and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all DOT and FMCSA compliance programs.
- Manage driver qualification files and ensure compliance with federal regulations.
- Conduct driver onboarding, safety orientations, and ongoing training.
- Review and investigate accidents, incidents, and claims.
- Monitor Hours of Service (HOS) compliance and ELD reporting.
- Manage CSA scores and implement strategies to improve safety performance.
- Conduct coaching and corrective action meetings with drivers when necessary.
- Develop and distribute monthly safety bulletins and newsletters.
- Create driver incentive and recognition programs focused on safety performance.
- Monitor driver behavior, speeding events, and safety violations.
- Coordinate roadside inspections, audits, and regulatory inquiries.
- Work closely with operations, dispatch, and maintenance departments to ensure company-wide compliance.
Qualifications
- Previous trucking safety, compliance, or transportation management experience a must.
- Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT compliance, and CSA programs.
- Experience with ELD systems such as Motive, Samsara, or similar platforms.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and transportation management software.
