Duties
- Greet customers warmly, assist with product inquiries, and provide product demonstrations to enhance their shopping experience
- Operate cash registers and POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for retail sales transactions and cash handling
- Manage cash drawer handling with precision, ensuring accurate cash register operations and balancing at shift end
- Upsell products by identifying customer needs and recommending additional items to maximize sales opportunities
- Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and support merchandising efforts to keep the store visually appealing and well-stocked
- Maintain excellent phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or via online inquiries
- Conduct product demos to educate customers about features and benefits, encouraging informed purchasing decisions
- Assist with inventory management, including stocking supplies and participating in periodic stock counts
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing questions, resolving issues promptly, and ensuring a positive shopping environment
Experience
- Prior experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key!
- Supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership skills and the ability to guide team members effectively
- Strong communication skills in both English and bilingual abilities are highly valued for serving diverse customer needs
- Familiarity with POS systems, retail math, and basic cashiering procedures ensures smooth transactions
- Ability to handle cash register operations confidently, including cash handling and balancing cash drawers accurately
- Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising techniques, and upselling strategies enhances sales performance
