Job Summary
American Builders Group is seeking a Construction Finance Specialist to help build and strengthen the financial operations of our growing construction company.
This role is responsible for overseeing accounts payable, job costing, purchasing controls, financial reporting, cash flow visibility, and coordination with our CPA. Key Responsibilities
As our Construction Finance Specialist, you'll play a key role in strengthening the financial operations of our growing company. Responsibilities include:
Financial Operations
Manage the day-to-day financial activities of the business, including accounts payable, vendor payments, purchasing, and expense tracking while ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
Project Financial Management
Support project profitability by monitoring job costs, reviewing budgets, tracking financial performance, and helping leadership identify opportunities for improvement.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
Prepare financial reports, forecasts, and key performance metrics that provide leadership with meaningful insights for business planning and decision-making.
Accounting & Compliance
Maintain accurate financial records, support QuickBooks management, and coordinate with our CPA to ensure timely reporting, month-end close, and regulatory compliance.
Process Improvement
Help develop and improve financial procedures, internal controls, and reporting systems that support the continued growth of the company.
What Success Looks Like
Within your first 6–12 months, you will:
- Improve visibility into project profitability.
- Establish stronger purchasing and payment controls.
- Help leadership make data-driven financial decisions.
- Build reliable financial reporting dashboards.
- Strengthen job costing accuracy.
- Improve cash flow forecasting.
- Create scalable financial systems to support company growth.
Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of accounting, finance, or construction accounting experience
- QuickBooks proficiency
- Strong Excel skills
- Experience with Accounts Payable
- Financial reporting experience
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and follow-through
Preferred:
- Construction or multifamily industry experience
- Job costing experience
- Purchase order management
- Cash flow forecasting
- Budget analysis
- ERP experience is a plus
Compensation & Benefits
- $68,000–$78,000 annually, depending on experience
