Patient Care Coordinator

Schedule: Monday–Friday
Cleveland Dental Institute is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator to support patient access, scheduling, and front office operations in a fast-paced academic dental environment. This position serves as a primary point of contact for patients and plays a key role in delivering an excellent patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist patients in person and by phone in a professional and courteous manner
- Schedule patient appointments and manage provider calendars
- Verify insurance eligibility and explain benefits to patients
- Collect co-payments and process patient payments
- Coordinate patient flow between front office and clinical teams
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in Dentrix
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and patient privacy regulations
- Address patient questions and concerns and escalate issues as appropriate
- Collaborate effectively with faculty, residents, and clinical staff
- May be asked on occasion to assist at neighboring Cleveland Dental Institute locations
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalent
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English for patient care, safety, and documentation
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Basic computer proficiency
- Ability to work full-time, Monday through Friday
- Professional demeanor and patient-focused approach
- Successful completion of a background check is required
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a dental or medical office
- Experience using Dentrix practice management software
- Knowledge of dental insurance verification and billing
- Bilingual skills (preferred but not required)

Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move throughout the clinic for extended periods
- Ability to bend, reach, lift, and carry up to 25 pounds
- Ability to perform repetitive motions, including hand and wrist movements
- Ability to see, hear, and communicate effectively to perform job duties safely
- Ability to work in a clinical environment with exposure to noise, chemicals, and bodily fluids, using appropriate protective equipment
