Travel Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – Level I Trauma OR | Day/Evening Variable Shifts
Schedule: Variable Day/Evening Shifts (4x10-Hour)
Shift Window: 6:30 AM – 11:30 PM (8, 10, or 12-hour shifts)
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Employment Type: Travel Contract
We're seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join a high-acuity Level I Trauma Operating Room. This role is ideal for a surgical tech with strong experience in complex surgical specialties who thrives in a fast-paced academic and trauma environment.
Position Highlights
- Variable 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts between 6:30 AM and 11:30 PM
- Monday–Friday schedule with weekend and holiday coverage as needed
- Call required
- Work alongside experienced surgeons in a busy Level I Trauma OR
- Epic charting preferred
Required Experience
Candidates must have recent experience in all of the following:
- Neurosurgery
- Spine Surgery
- Complex Orthopedic & Orthopedic Spine Surgery
- Complex General Surgery, including Bariatric Surgery
- Level I Trauma Operating Room
Preferred Experience
Experience in any of the following specialties is highly desirable:
- Robotics (Da Vinci)
- ENT
- Urology
- Plastic Surgery
- Burn Surgery
- Organ Transplant
- Craniotomies
- Trauma Surgery
- Ortho Trauma
- Eye Surgery
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain sterile operating rooms.
- Scrub and assist during complex surgical procedures.
- Maintain sterile technique and ensure patient safety throughout procedures.
- Prepare surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment.
- Anticipate surgeon needs during procedures.
- Handle surgical specimens appropriately.
- Assist with instrument counts and maintain accurate documentation.
- Support efficient OR workflow while collaborating with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesia staff.
- Follow infection prevention and safety protocols.
Minimum Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST).
- Current BLS Certification (AHA required).
- Minimum 3 years of recent Surgical Technologist experience.
- Previous travel assignment experience preferred.
- Recent Level I Trauma operating room experience.
- Experience with complex surgical cases.
- Epic experience preferred.
