Are you a seasoned publicist with a proven track record of media relationships, client leadership, and team management? We are seeking a dynamic Account Executive to join our team. This is a unique opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, creative environment and is ready to lead major initiatives across editorial, events, client strategy, and brand positioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead public relations strategy and execution for fashion and lifestyle clients, securing top-tier national, regional, and industry media placements.
- Maintain and grow strong relationships with editors, market editors, creative directors, journalists, and media contacts across major print, digital, broadcast, and online outlets.
- Leverage existing media relationships while proactively building new contacts and opportunities for clients.
- Craft compelling press materials, including press releases, media alerts, brand stories, executive biographies, trend pitches, and thought leadership opportunities.
- Develop strategic, creative, and seamless media pitches that generate meaningful coverage and brand visibility.
- Provide strategic counsel and guidance to clients, helping position them for long-term success and growth.
- Partner with senior leadership to develop and execute customized PR plans, campaign strategies, and brand initiatives.
- Take ownership of client accounts, serving as a trusted advisor and strategic lead.
- Oversee the creation and management of weekly and monthly client reports, call agendas, meeting recaps, media coverage reports, and account deliverables.
- Manage and mentor Account Coordinators, junior publicists, and interns by providing training, feedback, and professional development opportunities that support internal growth and promotion.
- Lead team workflow and ensure all account activities are executed efficiently, accurately, and on schedule.
- Support event planning and execution, including media events, product launches, fashion presentations, influencer activations, and special events.
- Manage event logistics, media attendance, VIP coordination, vendor management, and event reporting.
- Support influencer strategy, media outreach, and partnership development.
- Utilize media databases and industry tools, including Muck Rack, to identify opportunities, build media lists, monitor coverage, and strengthen media relationships.
Requirements
- 3–5+ years of experience within a public relations agency, preferably representing fashion, luxury, lifestyle, beauty, or hospitality brands.
- Strong, established relationships with national, regional, and industry editors and media contacts.
- Proven experience securing high-level media placements and managing successful PR campaigns.
- Demonstrated ability to lead client accounts independently while contributing strategic ideas and solutions.
- Proven experience managing, mentoring, and developing junior team members.
- Exceptional writing, editing, communication, and presentation skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Experience using Muck Rack and other media monitoring and reporting platforms.
- Ability to travel as needed for Fashion Weeks, client events, media activations, and agency initiatives in New York, Miami, Los Angeles, and other key markets.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, collaborative, proactive, and results-driven.
