We are seeking a detail-oriented SMT Operator to set up, operate, and maintain surface mount technology equipment used in the assembly of printed circuit boards (PCBs). The SMT Operator will be responsible for ensuring accurate placement of components, quality inspection, and meeting production schedules while adhering to company and industry standards.
Job Duties:
- Setup and operation of surface mount pick and place machines, a plus if familiar with Yamaha and Assembleon Opal Machines
- Setup and operation of stencil printers, a plus if familiar with Dek Screen Printer
- Setup and operation of reflow ovens
- Setup and tear down of machine feeders
- Ability to read and comprehend process documentation including routers, bills of materials, assembly drawings, component identification
- Attention to detail is very important
- Knowledge of ESD and electronic components is important
- Perform routine machine maintenance
- IPC-610 workmanship/certification a plus
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in electronics manufacturing is a plus.
- 1–3 years of experience operating SMT equipment (or equivalent manufacturing experience).
- Familiarity with SMT processes, components, and PCB assembly standards (IPC knowledge preferred).
- Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and work instructions.
- Strong attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, and quality focus.
- Basic computer skills for machine operation and data entry.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and stand for extended periods.
