Off-Road Community Engagement Specialist (Part-Time → Full-Time) — Remote, Burbank CA area
About M&R Automotive. M&R Automotive is an e-commerce brand specializing in vehicle-specific off-road LED light kits — DIY-friendly, no-drill, complete bolt-on packages built for off-road enthusiasts. Our shop is located near Burbank Airport.
The Role. We're looking for a real off-road enthusiast to represent M&R in online truck and off-road communities. You'll be M&R's official presence on the forums — building genuine relationships, engaging with online in forums such as the F-150, RAM, Chevrolet, Tacoma, Ranger, Bronco, and more. You'll be expected to speak credibly about a wide range of trucks, so people in these communities take you seriously.
This is primarily a remote position. We ask team members to attend in-person meetings at our Burbank shop about twice a month for team updates, collaboration, and growth planning.
What You'll Do
- Stay active in vehicle-specific forums and groups (F-150, Tacoma, Ranger, Bronco, etc.) as an identified M&R rep
- Find conversations about lighting, installs, and upgrades and jump in with genuinely useful answers
- Share install tips and honest product guidance — recommending our kits where they're a real fit, and saying so when they're not
- Build M&R's reputation as the knowledgeable, helpful lighting brand in these communities
- Set up and maintain proper vendor/brand accounts where forums require them
- Monitor discussions and report common questions, trends, and product feedback back to the team
What We're Looking For
- Genuine automotive knowledge (required). You don't need to be a mechanic, but you need to really know trucks — able to tell different makes, models, and generations apart (F-150 vs. Silverado vs. Tacoma vs. Ranger vs. Bronco, and the trims and model years enthusiasts care about). On a forum, you should be able to hold a real conversation and come across as someone who clearly knows their stuff — not someone faking it.
- Basic automotive electrical understanding. Comfortable with the fundamentals — 12V wiring, harnesses, switches, relays, fuses, and how add-on lighting connects to a vehicle — enough to talk installs credibly and field common wiring questions.
- We'll train you on the rest. You'll learn M&R's specific products, fitments, and install steps from us — but you need to walk in with real car knowledge. This isn't a fit for someone who doesn't know much about vehicles.
- Strong, natural writing — clear and human, never canned
- Experience in online forums and enthusiast communities (big plus)
- Honest and trustworthy — you get that credibility comes from helping, not pitching
- Self-starter who manages their own time and stays consistently engaged
