Key Responsibilities:
· Safely and accurately operate machine shop equipment (i.e. manual surface grinder, automatic surface grinder, manual OD/ID grinder, manual milling machine, manual lathe, CNC lathe/mill, and CNC Wire EdM).
· Machine parts to customer specifications, using machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines, or grinders.
· Set up, adjust, or operate basic or specialized machine tools used to perform precision machining operations.
· Measure, examine, or test completed units to check for defects and ensure conformance to specification, using precision instruments, such as micrometers.
· Perform routine machine maintenance.
· Use hand tools, air tools, or other devices to secure parts and fixtures.
· Read and understand Phoenix prints and routers.
· Understand work orders, machine controls, settings, fixtures and tool requirement to adjust as needed.
· Monitor machine while working to adjust and identify issues.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Ability to apply shop math, read and interpret blueprints and calculate dimensions.
· Ability to perform basic computer functions.
· Able to accurately use gauges and measuring tools to determine the quality of a part.
· Able to learn the operation of compound stamping tooling.
· Must demonstrate strong interpersonal relationship skills.
· Must possess and demonstrate a professional and respectful demeanor.
· Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
· Must be extremely detail oriented, analytical, organized, with the ability to prioritize effectively.
