Social Media Manager & Content Creator
Locus Café is looking for an experienced, creative, and confident Social Media Manager & Content Creator to take ownership of our TikTok and Instagram presence.
We are looking for someone who doesn’t just know how to post on social media—we want someone who understands how to grow and run an account.
This position will be responsible for managing our social media from start to finish, including developing content ideas, coming into the café to film, appearing on camera when needed, editing content, posting consistently, engaging with our audience, and keeping up with current trends and platform changes.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Managing Locus Café’s Instagram and TikTok
- Developing an overall social media/content strategy
- Coming to the café regularly to film and create original content
- Being comfortable appearing on camera and potentially becoming a recognizable face of Locus Café’s social media
- Filming and editing high-quality short-form videos, Reels, TikToks, Stories, and other content
- Creating content around our drinks, food, café atmosphere, events, seasonal launches, promotions, and trends
- Staying current with TikTok and Instagram trends, algorithms, sounds, formats, and platform changes
- Creating and maintaining a consistent posting schedule
- Writing captions and preparing posts
- Responding professionally to comments and DMs
- Brainstorming new campaigns and creative ideas without needing constant direction
- Reviewing content performance and using analytics to determine what is and isn’t working
- Adjusting strategy based on performance and trends
- Helping grow Locus Café’s online presence, engagement, and local awareness
Who We’re Looking For
We are specifically looking for someone with professional social media and content creation experience.
The ideal candidate:
- Has previously managed social media accounts for a business, brand, restaurant, café, or similar organization
- Has a portfolio or examples of accounts/content they have created or managed
- Understands Instagram and TikTok beyond personal use
- Has experience creating short-form video content
- Is confident and natural on camera
- Understands social media trends and how to adapt trends to a brand
- Can recognize what content is performing well and why
- Is comfortable taking initiative and bringing their own ideas
- Is reliable, organized, creative, and professional
- Has their own professional or high-quality filming/content creation equipment as needed
- Can maintain Locus Café’s brand while still bringing fresh ideas and personality
