PART-TIME DANCE TEACHER – SUMMER PERFORMING ARTS CAMP
Join our fun and creative summer camp at Laurissa Jane Music! As we enter our 12th year, we are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Dance Teacher to join our team for an exciting summer of performing arts.
Students will work together as actors, singers, and dancers to produce a fully staged musical production of Matilda Jr., complete with costumes, props, lighting, and sound. This is a wonderful opportunity to inspire young performers while helping bring a production to life.
Camp Dates: June 29, 2026 – August 14, 2026
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Position Hours: 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM (Part-Time)
Location: Rosedale, Queens, NY 11422
Position: Dance Teacher / Choreographer
We are looking for a creative and energetic Dance Teacher to:
- Choreograph and teach dance numbers for Matilda Jr.
- Teach students basic dance techniques, movement, and stage presence
- Lead rehearsals and help students develop confidence and performance skills
- Work collaboratively with the Music Director, Drama Teacher, and Production Team
- Create age-appropriate choreography for students of varying skill levels
Qualifications
- Experience teaching dance to children of various ages
- Experience choreographing musicals and theatrical productions
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to create a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
- College graduates and experienced teaching artists are encouraged to apply
- Background check required
