Community for Christ Assistance Center (CFCAC) is a Christian non-profit organization dedicated to sharing God’s love through community outreach and practical assistance for individuals and families in need. We are seeking a reliable, organized, and mission-driven Assistant Director to support daily operations and ministry programs.
This is a part-time leadership role ideal for candidates with experience in nonprofit administration, volunteer coordination, grant writing, or community outreach who are passionate about faith-based service.
Assistant Director
The Assistant Director works in cooperation with the Director to help ensure the Center operates efficiently and effectively. The responsibilities listed below are representative of the position and are not intended to be all-inclusive. Additional duties may be assigned as needed to support the Center's operations.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, submit, and complete final grant reports.
- Prepare and send donor thank-you correspondence.
- Prepare and distribute announcements and informational letters to member churches.
- Attend monthly Board of Directors meetings.
- Provide meeting information and materials to board members who are unable to attend meetings.
- Provide operational support by carrying out tasks, projects, and assignments as directed by the Director based on current organizational needs.
- Maintain accurate records of hours worked and provide those records to the Treasurer.
- Maintain the confidentiality of all client records and information.
- Maintain EFSP records and spreadsheets and submit required information to the United Way upon request.
- Maintain familiarity with the Director's responsibilities in order to serve in the Director's absence when necessary, which may include some Saturdays.
- Maintain records of volunteer hours.
- Maintain records of all food pantry items received.
- Attend United Way Unmet Needs meetings and other agency meetings as requested.
- Maintain records of monthly Secretary Minutes and newspaper articles pertaining to the Center.
- Prepare summaries of monthly Board meetings and submit them to the local newspaper.
- Assist with the operation of the Food Pantry, including obtaining hygiene products, diapers, and other food pantry supplies as needed.
- Assist, as needed, with opening and closing cash register procedures, including counting and depositing funds.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support the Center's mission and operations.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Hourly rate: $15.00 per hour.
- Hours are generally limited to 100 hours per month.
- Additional hours may be approved when necessary to support Center operations during the Director's absence.
- Paid leave is provided in accordance with the Illinois Paid Leave for All Workers Act.
