STEM Instructor – Builders Club (After-School Programs)
$50/Hour | Typical 8-Week Contract Earns $400 | Flexible Afternoons | Paid Training
At Solvers Problems, we inspire the next generation of engineers and problem solvers through Builders Club, our hands-on after-school STEM enrichment program. We partner with elementary schools throughout Montgomery and Howard Counties to deliver exciting STEM experiences that build creativity, critical thinking, and confidence.
As a STEM Instructor, you'll lead fun, hands-on engineering and science activities using LEGO® building projects, design challenges, and interactive STEM investigations. We provide all lesson plans, curriculum, materials, and training—so you can focus on creating an engaging experience for students.
What You'll Do
- Teach one-hour after-school STEM classes for elementary students
- Lead hands-on engineering and science challenges
- Encourage creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving
- Set up and organize classroom materials
- Create a fun, positive learning environment
Schedule & Pay
- $50 per teaching hour
- Typical 8-week teaching contract earns $400
- Teach one or multiple contracts each season based on your availability
- Flexible weekday afternoons (typically after 3:00 PM)
- Approximately 6 hours per week
- Additional paid opportunities available through our Saturday STEM League programs and Summer STEM Camps
Qualifications
We're looking for dependable, enthusiastic people who enjoy working with children.
Experience in any of the following is a plus:
- Teaching
- Tutoring
- Childcare
- Summer camps
- Coaching
- Youth programs
- Recreation programs
You should also have:
- Reliable transportation
- Strong communication skills
- Availability at least two afternoons per week
- Ability to pass a fingerprint-based background check
