Job Summary
Our production machine shop is looking for an experienced machinist for our CNC Lathe department who can set up, run, and program CNC lathes to enhance the productivity of our organization. The department in need of this position consists of several small CNC lathes with bar feeders. The successful candidate will have good overall knowledge of machining practices, a good understanding of tooling and inserts, proficiency with measuring tools, and understand the importance of performing regular work quality checks. Shop employees work four 10 hour shifts, Monday-Thursday with opportunities for overtime. Responsibilities
- Translate the requirements of detailed part drawings into measurements for production.
- Perform proper set-up and calibration procedures for all equipment and accessories to be used on projects.
- Maintain quality standards for each job as set forth by customer requirements.
- Ensure that every machine procedure is done in accordance with the strict guidelines of the company.
- Create and update detailed job setup notes for repeat jobs.
- Follow all company safety protocol.
- Maintains assigned area in a neat and orderly manner to facilitate safety and productivity.
Required Experience and Skills
- High school diploma/GED required.
- Strong basic math skills.
- 5+ years' experience using CNC lathe equipment.
- Good overall knowledge of machining practices.
- Good knowledge of tooling and inserts.
- Proven history of working with measuring tools.
- Extensive knowledge of machine maintenance and operation.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
