Position Summary
The Houseperson supports the housekeeping team by maintaining cleanliness and organization of public areas and back-of-house spaces while assisting room attendants with daily operations. This role is essential to ensuring Holiday Inn brand standards are met and guests experience a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities
Public Areas & Back-of-House
- Clean and maintain hotel public areas including lobbies, hallways, stairwells, elevators, restrooms, fitness center, and meeting spaces.
- Maintain cleanliness of back-of-house areas such as linen rooms, housekeeping closets, laundry areas, and storage rooms.
- Empty trash and replace liners throughout the property.
Housekeeping Support
- Assist Room Attendants by delivering linens, towels, amenities, rollaway beds, cribs, and supplies as needed.
- Collect and transport soiled linens to the laundry area.
- Strip rooms when required and assist with deep cleaning projects.
- Respond promptly to guest requests and service calls related to housekeeping.
Maintenance & Safety
- Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or damaged items to management immediately.
- Follow all safety, sanitation, and chemical-handling procedures.
- Ensure carts, equipment, and supply areas are clean and organized.
Guest Service
- Interact with guests in a friendly, professional manner at all times.
- Proactively assist guests and address concerns or escalate issues to management as needed.
- Uphold Holiday Inn’s service culture and brand standards.
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous housekeeping or hotel experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and time-management skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions, policies, and brand standards.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to push/pull housekeeping carts and equipment.
Work Environment & Schedule
- Indoor hotel environment with exposure to cleaning chemicals.
- Flexible schedule required, including weekends and holidays.
