Make an impact in the lives of elementary students by providing dedicated occupational therapy support in a welcoming school environment. This contract opportunity is ideal for an Occupational Therapist interested in working part-time within a supportive district setting. You’ll primarily serve students at an elementary school, with a manageable caseload and a consistent weekly schedule.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Active OT license in Michigan (or eligibility to obtain)
- Previous pediatric or school-based OT experience preferred
- Strong collaboration and communication skills for working with students, faculty, and families
- Ability to adapt therapeutic approaches to meet diverse student needs
Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to students in accordance with IEP goals
- Assess students' functional abilities using standardized assessments and observations
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to support educational participation
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other support staff to facilitate student progress
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports in compliance with state and district guidelines
- Provide recommendations for classroom accommodations and modifications
What to Expect:
- Contract role supporting students across the district, primarily at one elementary campus
- Consistent schedule, 2.5 days per week, following elementary school hours (8:35 am – 3:38 pm)
- Manageable caseload of approximately 25 students, allowing for impactful and individualized care
