Our client is a leading food manufacturer seeking 2 Maintenance Technicians at their brand new, state of the art facility in the Brillion/Chilton Wisconsin area. All positions are 2nd shift (5:00 pm - 5:00 am on a 2-2-3 rotation) with an hourly rate of $37 - $43/hour with $3/hour shift differential, premium weekend pay (as needed when production demands), a 3-4% target bonus and a pro-rated $6,000 sign-on bonus. Minimal relocation benefits are available for a well-qualified candidate. Full benefit package also includes an on-site fitness center, product discounts, health and wellness reimbursement program and more. Job responsibilities include:
- Maintain and troubleshoot automated production, utility and facility systems
- Conduct routine inspections to identify early failure indicators
- Diagnose and repair PLC-controlled equipment, VFDs, motors, instrumentation, and controls systems
- Support utility operations including boilers, ammonia refrigeration, wastewater systems, etc.
- Develop and maintain documentation, work instructions, and job plans
- Support continuous improvement, reliability initiatives, and capital projects
- Perform maintenance including LOTO, contractor oversight, and permit compliance
- Verify equipment restoration, testing, and operational readiness
- Provide hands-on coaching and troubleshooting support to build team capability
- Partner with engineering on control, information, and electrical projects to help translate design intent into reliable operation
The following requirements must be met to be considered for the position:
- Associate degree in a relevant field preferred
- 5-10 years of industrial maintenance experience in a food manufacturing environment
- Experience with PLCs, VFDs, and industrial automation
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills
- Experience supporting utilities (boilers, refrigeration, chilled water, ammonia) strongly preferred
- Prior experience with GMPs, food safety, and regulatory standards
- Previous mentoring, training, coaching, or project leadership experience
- Pneumatic and hydraulic experience including replacing/repairing valves, filter assembly, etc. and knowledge of control wiring, programming, and operation of various control panels, transducers, etc. strongly preferred
- Must have PLC skills (Allen-Bradley skills a big plus)
- Skilled in stainless steel welding a big plus
- Strong math, problem solving, and MS Office skills
